The chest is constructed of solid rosewood with hidden mortise and tenon joints, and the lid is secured with animal glue and rosewood dowels. Inside, at mid-height, there is a plank with three circular openings for placing the ampoules. The surface finish is varnished with shellac polish and beeswax application.
